The Polyglot Magazine & Creative Hub is inviting you to a special workshop guided by Daniel Poitras called From Pissed to Purpose: Transforming Anger into Art.
This workshop is part of The Polyglot’s Voices in Relation program, sponsored by SILR (Supporting Indigenous Language Revitalization).
Workshop Description
Anger, grief, frustration, and self-doubt are often treated as emotions to suppress. What if they could become creative companions instead? This generative writing workshop explores how difficult emotions can become powerful sources of artistic expression. Through guided prompts, freewriting, discussion, and reflection, participants will play with poetry and storytelling to transform personal and collective experiences into meaningful creative work. Particular attention will be given to themes of identity, cultural disconnection, belonging, and the emotional realities that often accompany journeys of language and cultural reclamation.
Participants are invited to write from wherever they are with honesty, courage, and curiosity.
